We traveled to Kihei in Maui the first week of July to scatter Matt's ashes. He asked to be laid to rest in the ocean off the Maui coast. He lived in Maui for about 6 months and loved being there.
We kayaked out to a spot that felt right and each took a moment to scatter some of his ashes. We all spoke to how much we love and miss him. It was incredibly difficult and healing. Four years later, we miss him just as much. We were grateful to experience some closure with this ceremony, knowing the hole in our hearts will always remain....
