Memorial Service Program- Thursday, July 27 2006 City Park Pavillion

Thank you to all who attended the memorial service both physically and in spirit. It was a beautiful celebration of his life and you honored him with your presence.

I have never seen a ceremony sooo full. That lets everyone know how loveable Matt was. He was friendly with everyone. It was sad but a happy ceremony at the same time. Cause of the music they played. I was trying so hard not to cry. And when the song "Changes" by 2-pac came on,.. i couldn't help it anymore. It was the best way to remember him. Cause thats the kind of person he was. A verry hapy guy. And a Lady's Man!! Im sure everyone will always have a good memory of you. Good bye Matt,.. and see you soon!! You are now home.

Carol, Chad, Jason, Tara, Bryan and Evan,

What a beautiful testimony to Matt's life and legacy. Thank you for sharing him and yourselves so deeply in Denver, at the ceremony (my parents said it was deeply moving), and on the website. Your words at the ceremony captured it all - his zest for life, laughter, his challenges and courage. Witnessing your commmunity rise was amazing and a testament to Matt and you all as a family. May you be comforted by his sweetness and the faith that he is at peace. We are here for you in Denver and San Fran, and love you very much.

Big hugs and much love,
Tamara Doi, on behalf of Bob and Pat Doi and Sho Aoyagi

Well, you had no problem calling me brother and I treasure that. At our wedding you offered love and acceptance. You said, "knowing Bryan for these years I know that I never have to worry about T". I hope I've lived up to that. I'll keep trying to make you proud. You lived with your heart and your spirit and I would do well to try to embody that, if only with a fraction of your swagger. You once said, "I'm a man of few words". Here are a few for you. We love you.

Love of Life on a separate plane
Where a mere you or I can dwell if only in a Dreamer’s gleam
Your pulse has rhythm
And the booming beat circulates the amplitude of your soul
Warm core and outward strength
You transformed life’s scars into art
And we struggle to do justice to this wound
Torrent of grace on a fire escape
The great height you attained
Now freedom’s view
Float, soar
On your raging gust of fate
Live on
In her, in me
In the youth and your faith in possibility
